Benefits of Having an Automated Security Gate

Some of the benefits of having an automated gate installed are:
• Security;
• Improved curb appeal;
• Increased property value;
• Safety for your children and pets;
• Privacy.

Automated driveway gates are a good first layer of security.
Most thefts are crimes of opportunity. If your home has a security gate and your neighbor's home does not, which house do you think a thief will target first? If you answered, "Not mine," then you are very likely correct.
Home invasion is another scenario in which having an automated gate increases your security. If the bad guys can’t even get through your gate, they aren't going to be able to get to your front door.
Discover the types of gate systems that provide the highest level of security.
With a voice communication system or intercom at your driveway gate, you can decide by talking to a person if you even want to let them in your gate. With a camera system you can visually verify if they are who they say they are.
Help keep your kids safe from traffic or predators.
With an automatic security gate, you gain a greater sense of security while your kids are playing in the yard, comfortable in the knowledge that they won't be chasing any balls out into the street or won't have to deal with strangers ambling into your yard.

Iris Scanning Security

Iris scanning is an automated method of biometric identification that uses mathematical pattern recognition of images of an individual’s iris, either from one or both eyes.

To obtain these images, an authentication device scans the iris—which is the thin, colored ring of the eye that opens and shuts the pupil like a camera shutter, thus regulating the amount of light that reaches the retina.

Each individual has a uniquely different and highly intricate iris pattern in each eye, which is completely developed at a very young age and remains unchanged throughout one’s lifetime. This, combined with the fact that iris patterns are almost impossible to replicate, makes iris scanning one of the most secure and reliable biometric techniques available.

As a result, it is widely being used for access control in pharmaceutical dispensing, border control and airport security.

Security Metal Detector

While you are stepping through the metal detector, your carry-on items are going through the X-ray system. A conveyor belt carries each item past an X-ray machine. X-rays are like light in that they are electromagnetic waves, but they are more energetic, so they can penetrate many materials. The machine used in airports usually is based on a dual-energy X-ray system. This system has a single X-ray source sending out X-rays, typically in the range of 140 to 160 kilovolt peak (KVP). KVP refers to the amount of penetration an X-ray makes. The higher the KVP, the further the X-ray penetrates.

After the X-rays pass through the item, they are picked up by a detector. This detector then passes the X-rays on to a filter, which blocks out the lower-energy X-rays. The remaining high-energy X-rays hit a second detector. A computer circuit compares the pick-ups of the two detectors to better represent low-energy objects, such as most organic materials.

Security Procedures at Airports

The security procedures at airports, which have been implemented since the September 11th terrorist attack on the Twin Towers can cause delays from time to time. Therefore either some passengers' rebelliousness or some false alarms startle the security personnel. Passengers are depressed by both the armed combat cars driving between the airplanes and the armed security personnel on the planes themselves. And the world's best and safest becomes a nightmare!However all of these precautions are to eliminate the terror problem. The expanding menace brings new rules and applications along with it. US government authorities take pictures and fingerprints of each passenger entering the country. In due course all identification information, even the home address, will be added to the reservation system when the passenger purchases his or her ticket. Passengers will have green, yellow or red colors according to the terror risk they carry.
We would like to remind frequent flyers of the important points to take into consideration when preparing luggage, and of the new rules to be applied at the Terminals.
While preparing your luggage:
Don't take restricted material to the airport, such as explosives, unnecessary electronic devices, batteries and large quantities of lighters. Try not to fill your handbag.
Don't take with you liquid products that are hard to identify. Although this might be simple cough syrup, it may create trouble at the security section.
Don't wear shoes or dresses that have metallic accessories and don't wear jewelry that will set off the alarm while passing through the metal detector.
Carry films and cameras in your handbag. The X-ray machines used to screen luggage and identify "new generation" fluid explosives can damage undeveloped films.
Never take pointed and sharp items with you. Combs with pointed handles, manicure sets, and nail files are not allowed in handbags anymore. Of course it is strictly prohibited to take jackknives etc. with you into the passenger part of the plane.
Pressurized containers such as hair sprays and deodorants are not allowed in the passenger part of the plane.
You are allowed to carry only one carry-on bag on board. The carry-on bag is described as one handbag or one personal belonging in the United States. The dimensions may not exceed 60cm x 30 cm and must weigh less than 5 kg. "Personal belongings" include a laptop, your coat or your umbrella, if it has been previously checked at a security point.
Don't forget to attach labels to your luggage with your name and address on, including your hand luggage. Most passengers don't put stickers on their hand luggage and these can sometimes be forgotten at the checkpoint. And it takes quite a long time to find the owner of the luggage.
