The safety and security aspects play a very vital role in hospitality industry as this industry is dependent largely on the customer relationship with the hotel. If the guest encounters any security issue during their stay in the hotel, it leads to dissatisfaction of the guests resulting in Cognitive dissonance. Even if hospitality customer already has a physical security solution in place, chances are they’re in desperate need of a technology upgrade. With the latest advances, hospitality customers can move from older analog systems to new and improved IP-based, digital-quality solutions that are also more affordable now and easier to manage. Over the last few years, the usual barriers associated with physical security have been essentially eliminated. Today, it’s not unheard of for a small or medium-sized hotel to feature a full-color IP-based surveillance system with cloud-hosted backup and dozens of motion-sensitive digital cameras scattered throughout the campus. Security mainly covers following three aspects in the hotels:-
1) PHYSICAL ASPECT OF SECURITY
2) SECURITY OF THE PEOPLE
3) SECURITY OF SYSTEMS AND MACHINERIES
Physical aspect of Security mainly covers the internal and external security of the guests and the staff of the hotel. The security of the people encompasses security of hotel staff and the most important security of the guests. Out of these, the security of guests is of prime importance as it can affect the business and operations of the hotel. In hotels, there are very expensive equipments which are used during daily operations. All the records of missing or misplaced items should be made and regular physical inventory should be done to check the missing or misplaced items.
