Working of Laser Security System

The basic sensing component of a laser security system is an infrared motion detector. An infrared motion detector works by using beams of infrared light to detect changes in heat. When a person moves into the beam of light, the sensor is alerted by the body heat given off by the individual. If infrared sensors are placed strategically, the beams of light will make it impossible for an intruder to come into the area without the sensor being alerted. The sensor, which is connected to the basic alarm unit through a wireless connection, then triggers the basic unit to alert the monitoring service. The monitoring service will contact the home and, if no response is received, will contact the police. In most models, the basic unit also sounds a loud alarm.

Laser Security Systems are simple to install and can be used effectively inside or outside a home. The systems can be used as a highly effective perimeter alarm for property boundaries or even for pools, where customers can have the lasers set to detect when small children come within a set number of feet from the edge of the water.

Importance of Security Equipments

Over the past several years, technology has evolved to the point where more reliable, powerful tools have become accessible to small businesses that were not just a short time ago. Sophisticated security systems are getting cheaper by the day, putting enhancements like perimeter surveillance camera systems and fully wireless CCTV systems within reach of even small businesses. With multiple visible cameras protecting both the inside and outside of the premises, it’s a safe bet that even a career criminal will move on to an easier target.

Equipments like motion sensor-activated cameras can keep your business secure and eliminate the need to watch hours of surveillance footage in the event of an incident on your premises. Newer digital formats also make it faster and easier to collect and distribute video evidence to the authorities.

Why Building Needs Elevator Monitoring?

Elevator is a critical system in building, it will eventually require attention that goes beyond what routine maintenance can provide. For your building to stay competitive with regard to maintaining its value and tenant confidence, you need to monitor your elevator so you know when to service an ageing system.

  • To record and address malfunctions - Every attribute of the elevator should be carefully controlled to ensure that things are working well at all times. A very fast ride can be physically detrimental to the passengers, while a very slow ride can impede traffic flow throughout the building, tempting users to overfill the elevator when they get the opportunity to use it.

  • Stop Crime - Monitoring of elevator is mainly aimed at identifying and addressing malfunctions before any damage occurs, active monitoring can also help to spot unscrupulous individuals looking to commit crimes in the elevators or even worse.

  • User safety - Elevator monitoring ensures that the elevators are operating properly at all times and that the passengers riding within them will be safe in the event that something goes wrong.

Road Traffic Accidents – A Public Health Issue

Road traffic accidents (RTAs) have emerged as an important public health issue which needs to be tackled by a multi-disciplinary approach. The trend in RTA injuries and death is becoming alarming in countries like India. The number of fatal and disabling road accident happening is increasing day by day and is a real public health challenge for all the concerned agencies to prevent it. Awareness creation, strict implementation of traffic rules, and scientific engineering measures are the need of the hour to prevent this public health catastrophe. A three-layer audit before new roads are constructed, and star ratings for existing roads in the city are in the offing under Delhi government newly drafted Delhi Road Safety Policy regarding road safety.
The policy states that there will be a road safety audit of all roads in a phased manner, with two years of the policy coming into effect, to identify road engineering and signage defects. Sustainable improvements, the policy says, will be carried out in the road network of by taking necessary actions such as road markings, putting up speed limit signage, warning signs, and redesigning.

Siren (Alarm)

siren is a loud noise making device. Civil defensesirens are mounted in fixed locations and used to warn of natural disasters or attacks. Sirens are used on emergency service vehicles such as ambulancespolice cars, and firetrucks. There are two general types: 1.pneumatic and 2.electronic. Many fire sirens (used for calling the volunteer fire fighters) serve double duty as tornado or civil defense sirens, alerting an entire community of impending danger. Most fire sirens are either mounted on the roof of a fire station or on a pole next to the fire station. Fire sirens can also be mounted on or near government buildings, on tall structures such as watertowers, as well as in systems where several sirens are distributed around a town for better sound coverage. Most fire sirens are single tone and mechanically driven by electric motors with a rotor attached to the shaft. Some newer sirens are electronically driven speakers. Electronic sirens incorporate circuits such as oscillatorsmodulators, and amplifiers to synthesize a selected siren tone (wail, yelp, pierce/priority/phaser, hi-lo, scan, airhorn, manual, and a few more) which is played through external speakers. It is not unusual, especially in the case of modern fire engines, to see an emergency vehicle equipped with both types of sirens. Often, police sirens also use the interval of a tritone to help draw attention.

walkie-talkie is a hand-held, portable, two-way radio transceiver.walkie-talkies spread to public safety and eventually commercial and jobsite workTypical walkie-talkies resemble a telephone handset, with a speaker built into one end and a microphone in the other (in some devices the speaker also is used as the microphone) and an antenna mounted on the top of the unit. A walkie-talkie is a half-duplex communication device. Multiple walkie-talkies use a single radio channel, and only one radio on the channel can transmit at a time, although any number can listen. The transceiver is normally in receive mode; when the user wants to talk he presses a "push-to-talk" (PTT) button that turns off the receiver and turns on the transmitter. Walkie Talkies use a radio frequency, normally around 466 MHz, to allow basic chat over short and medium distances. Because of this PMRs (private mobile radio) have quite a lot of uses including:
·          Lifeguards
·          Police Service
·         Shopping centre security
·         Shop / Warehouse staff
·         Skiing trips
·         Hiking
Why do I need a Walkie Talkie?
A Walkie talkie can provide you  with a way of contacting someone in an emergency, especially when a mobile signal isn’t achievable. With a range being between 6km and 12km on a basic Walkie Talkie, allows you to work over large distances without having to worry about connection loss.

Secrets of a Successful Physical Security Checklist

A physical security checklist is a relatively simple tool, but it can be a very effective way to ensure your customers receive the level of protection they need. Developing a useful, relevant checklist can help guide your initial visits with a new customer, positioning you for a successful project overall. So you’ll need a physical security checklist that is broad enough to account for different types of customers but also specific enough to really delve into each site.
Firstly, create a basic checklist that encompasses the most important physical security features for most facilities. For each new customer, run through these basic items to get a sense of their current physical security set-up. After this initial audit, you can drill down on any security concerns that are unique to their industry or facility.
To make your checklist as flexible as possible, consider digitizing it. You can easily build a basic checklist in Word or Excel, which allows you to easily update it at any time.
If you work with customers in a variety of verticals, you will want to cater your checklist to each industry. This will help you ensure that you’re not missing any of the important physical security features that are unique to a given market.
New technologies are released every year, and your customers will likely encounter different risks as time goes on. Because physical security is such a rapidly changing field of technology, an annual audit of your checklists would be best.

Guarding Against Assault

Assault is a tort and occurs when a person intentionally places another in a state of fear. There are three types of assault: Simple Assault, Assault and Battery and Aggravated Assault. Each type of assault is intended to instill fear and may even involve physical pain against another person. Attempted aggravated assault that involves the display of/or threat to use a gun, knife, or other weapon is included in crime category because serious personal injury would likely result if the assault were completed. The basic rules of prevention are to be sensible and to be alert. The following tips will also help reduce the risk of assault.
  • If possible, don’t walk alone during late night hours. Walk in groups whenever you can, there is always safety in numbers.
  • Let a family member or friend know your destination and your estimated time of arrival or return.
  • If you have to walk in the street, walk facing traffic. A person walking with traffic can be followed, forced into a car, and abducted more easily than a person walking against traffic.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings. If you are wearing headphones, don’t turn up the volume so high that you cannot hear outside noises.
  • Before entering your vehicle, check for offenders hiding in the back seat or on the floor. When driving, always park in well-lit places and lock your doors.
  • Stay in well-lit areas as much as possible. Avoid alleys, vacant lots, wooded areas, and other short-cuts or secluded areas.
  • Crime prevention and awareness, as well as consistent reporting, may be the strongest defenses against becoming the victim of an assault.
